SPRINKLER SYSTEMS
Sprinkler system installation and care in the Yakima Valley
Zoned sprinkler and drip installs, plus the start-ups, repairs and fall blow-outs that keep them working.
Chapter 01
Zones drawn by sun and plant, not by lot size
A Yakima yard bakes in July. A lawn in full afternoon sun, a bed of shrubs on the shaded side of the house and a row of young trees do not want the same amount of water, so they shouldn't share a valve. Marco's crew walks the property first and splits it into zones: turf on its own, planting beds on theirs, trees and anything against a hot south wall on another.
That plan gets settled before a trench opens. Because OMG also builds the curbed beds, rock borders and paver areas on the same job, pipe and wire go in ahead of the finish work, and nothing has to be torn up later to reach a line. It works the same for a front yard in Yakima or a commercial frontage in Selah or Ellensburg.

Spray heads, drip lines and the controller
Each zone gets the head that suits what is growing in it. Spray and rotor heads cover lawn evenly. Drip lines run to shrubs, trees and bed plantings, so the water lands at the roots and not on the mulch or the fence.
The controller ties the zones together. It's where run times are set for each valve and changed as the season moves from cool spring weeks into July heat and back again. A good install leaves behind a controller the person who lives there can read and adjust.
Chapter 03
Spring start-up and the fall blow-out before the first hard freeze
A sprinkler system isn't finished the day it goes in. In spring the lines are filled slowly, each zone is run, and every head is checked for coverage, clogging and a bent riser before the dry weather arrives. A break or a misaimed head is far cheaper to find in April than in the middle of a heat wave.
In fall the water comes out. The lines are blown clear before the first hard freeze so nothing sits in the pipe and cracks it over winter. OMG installs these systems and keeps coming back to maintain them, which is why start-ups, repairs and blow-outs are part of the work.
